Marques de Riscal gran reserva heeft 36 maanden houtrijping gehad op Amerikaans en Frans eiken. 
Marques de Riscal gran reserva is een evenwichtig, expressieve rode wijn. Rijp fruit,  tabak, rijpe tannines en een lange afdronk.
Uitstekende combinatie met rundvlees, lam, stoofschotels, wild, ossehaas, geroosterd/gegrild vlees, jamon en harde kazen. 
Goed op dronk, maar kan zich tot 2027 nog verder ontwikkelen.
De optimale drinktemperatuur voor Marques de Riscal gran reserva is 17°C. 

Marqués de Riscal is one of the classical names living up to its reputation and are still in need to improve their range. I see with regret that they are releasing a low-quality/low-priced wine for the export markets instead on focusing on getting their serious wines to the level they were in the past. Not that the wines are bad, it's that they could (should) be a lot better.
