'The 2015 Blanc de Gresa is a blend of local whites that changes with the vintage. In 2015 the blend is 45% Garnacha Blanca, 30% Garnacha Rosada and 25% Cariñena Blanca from two ancient vineyards planted with extremely old vines (90 and 110 years old!) on flat alluvial soils rich in sand and boulder stones. The grapes are cooled down and had some skin contact, then pressed. Both Garnacha Blanca and Garnacha Rosada fermented in 500-liter French oak barrels while the Cariñena Blanca fermented with neutral yeasts in stainless steel, where the wines are kept with lees and some bâtonnage for eight months. It had a creamy note, even a tad lactic (white chocolate?), and a riper and mellower character than the white from amphora, possibly reflecting the conditions of the vintage. It's powerful, intense and long. 4,900 bottles were filled in May 2017.' Luis Guttiérrez, 27th Apr 2018
