Eén jaar rijping op eiken vaten, één jaar flesrijping. Purperrood, complex, rijpe vruchten, subtiele houttonen, noten, cacao, een spoortje peper, tannine. Mooie, lange afdronk. Goed op dronk, kan zich tot 2016 verder ontwikkelen. Nog relatief onontdekt.
The Wine Advocate:
The 2004 Castell de Falset is composed of 50% Carinena, 25% Garnacha, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 12 months in French oak. Purple-colored, it has a superb bouquet of cedar, mineral, scorched earth, pencil lead, black cherry and blackberry. This leads to an intensely flavored, sweetly-fruited, plush wine with incipient complexity and elegance. It conceals enough silky tannin to support 3-5 years of further cellaring and will be at its best from 2012 to 2025.
